My Journey to Creating Mandalas: Inspired by Mark Golding
Since the beginning of 2022, I’ve been deeply immersed in meditation and channeling techniques, focusing on accessing my intuition and cultivating a deeper sense of inner love. After four years of working on myself—clearing emotional blockages and striving for balance in every way possible—I decided to start the new year with a renewed focus on elevating both my artistic and personal growth. I committed to letting my self-expression manifest fully.
A Spiritual Calling and Artistic Inspiration
My artistic work has always been deeply influenced by spirituality. Seeking inspiration and courage, I turned to my "inner voice," the Divine within me, to guide my steps toward fulfilling my creative potential. After three months of dedicated practice with my channeling techniques—both solo and in group settings—I was led by the Divine to an incredible source of inspiration: a mentor and master mandala creator named Mark Golding.
I had often heard the saying attributed to Buddha: “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” I had prayed fervently for such a moment to arrive. One day, while browsing Facebook, I stumbled upon the most mesmerizing mandala I had ever seen. It stopped me in my tracks, holding my gaze in stillness. Time seemed to stand still.
After some research, I found Mark Golding’s Facebook page and website, both brimming with breathtaking healing mandalas, words of wisdom, and pure love. Mark's work radiated the aura of a saint, offering humanity his artistic gifts with profound sincerity.
Hours passed as I analyzed his drawings, enchanted by their beauty and depth. Finally, I reached out to Mark with the simple message: “I love your work and would love to be a spiritual apprentice.” His response was equally simple: “Thank you.”
The Journey of Creating Mandalas
That brief exchange marked a turning point in my life. While we didn’t converse in the traditional sense, Mark’s work became my guiding light. I immersed myself in studying his sacred geometry, writings, and videos, absorbing every fragment of wisdom he shared.
As a photographer, video editor, and 3D motion designer, I had all the technical skills to create, but I had never allowed my heart to express the immense love I knew it held. This endeavor felt like the culmination of years of preparation—a moment to let my inner light shine. I made a promise to myself: I would create 10 mandalas, pouring my heart, love, and light into each one, with the intent to bring healing and balance to all who viewed them.
The process was intense. Each day, I spent at least eight hours learning geometry, creating patterns, sketching, texturing, and lighting—all while delving into my inner world of thoughts, feelings, and sensations. The hardest work was overcoming limiting beliefs like “You’re not good enough” and facing the emotions that surfaced. Through acceptance and inner alchemy, I transformed those doubts into creative fuel.
Each of the seven colored mandalas I created connects to one of my chakras. As I worked, blockages within me would often surface, reflected in the mandala itself. To perfect the design, I meditated, revisited the work, and made gradual changes, aligning the artwork with deeper clarity and healing.
After three months of relentless effort, surrendering to the creative process, and embracing transformation, the 10 mandalas were finally complete. The journey was an emotional rollercoaster, filled with countless test images, breakthroughs, and moments of profound peace.
Mark Golding's Legacy
Throughout this journey, I longed to show my work to Mark Golding and thank him for his guidance. However, just a day before I finished the final mandala, I received the news that Mark had passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 26th.
I was stunned. It felt surreal. Yet, instead of sadness, I experienced a deep, peaceful acceptance. I knew Mark was a yogi, a luminous soul who had completed his work on Earth and ascended to higher realms, leaving behind a legacy of eternal love.
"I should tell you that my only wish is for the end of all suffering.
I dream of a world in which there is no pain, no fear, and no anxiety, and I intend to spend my life working toward that vision.
You see, I believe that this is entirely possible, for I have seen it in my vision.
And it is this very generation—we, you, us—that will realize this.
I am not alone."
These words from Mark encapsulate his profound wish. They have inspired me to create these works of art and to continue creating even more.
Creating Mandalas for Healing and Transformation
I hope that these mandalas bring us closer to Mark’s splendid vision: a world without pain, fear, or anxiety. Each piece I’ve created carries the intent to inspire, heal, and connect to the sacred energy within us all.
